My Novel + Supporting AD
Thank you for joining me at Angelic Dissent <3
If you enjoy my writing, I’d like you to know that I’m currently working on a novel. Writing isn’t where I make my money, so this is hard to make time for, but it’s a work I really believe in and hope to share with you one day.
A young Northern woman in modern day London finds herself obsessed with the diaries and works of a performance artist from 1960s NYC. She loses herself in her parasocial relationship with the artist until it takes over her life, her friendships, and her reality. The novel explores themes of dissociation, sexuality, class, and what it is to see one another. As I write it, I find myself coming back to the question: what does it mean to have a body? And where are the body’s edges if not in the physical?
To support my writing, you can buy me a coffee here. I also love to chat with writers, agents, and publishers about their experiences around fiction novels, so if you have any wisdom to share, I’d be grateful to hear it!
If you’re interested in the other writing I’ve published that might give you an idea of how the novel reads and its topics, you could take a look at INFESTATION, the artists who raised me, and is performance art outdated in a dystopia?. You can find an example of my short fiction in the piece DOLLSHOUSE, for paloma magazine.
