I think often as beginner artists we lean more heavily on imitation and then hopefully as we grow and practice, we're able to use what we like to inspire what we will uniquely be and create as artists --- which is hopefully distinct from whatever is trendy, something lasting. and so it comes around again, as your writing is an inspiration to me. :) when i came across the concept of model collapse, where AI rots as it eats itself, i thought about how it is so similar to what i've been seeing the past few decades. unlike machines, though, we can reverse course and do more--in our beings we are creator and creative if only we can reconnect and remember.

If the 60s as we know them didn’t begin until the starting gun shot through JFK’s skull in ‘63, and ended abruptly in August ‘69 with the Manson murders, then maybe the 20s- the 2020s- begin here. Finally. Far enough from the pandemic that most of us have managed to claw our way back to something that feels normal."
